WIGHT QUADRUPLANE by RVHP, 1/72 scale Polyurethane resin kit injection mold.

The Wight Quadruplane was built as a private venture in August, 1916. The original version had a cut out in the leading edge of the bottom wing for the wheels and a 3 foot tail skid to keep the bottom wing from dragging the ground. After two revisions, the final version attracted sufficient offical interest for a contract to be awarded on Nov 13, 1917. However, performance was not good enough and the Quadruplane remained a prototype. It was written off on Feb 2, 1918.

This model represents the final version of the plane. A more comprehensive build article was published in Internet Modeler September 2001, and a review of this kit written by Bob Pearson can be seen in can be seen in Internet Modeler May 2001.
